The story began with a routine import — our client decided to bring in a batch of roasted pressed seaweed and nori.
The customs broker submitted a declaration to Odesa Customs with a transparent calculation based on the transaction value method. The declared value clearly accounted for everything — from the phytosanitary certificate to insurance and transportation costs.
But Odesa Customs had a different opinion. Disagreeing with the declared customs value of the goods, they unilaterally decided to adjust it. The result? The client was forced to overpay UAH 324,139.17 in customs duties.

The court canceled both the adjustment decision and the rejection notice, protecting the legitimate interests of the importer.
